You will be encouraged to push your limits & gain confidence whatever your level of playing & ability.

The Album
The album title, ’Troubadours Escape’, is inspired by musicians of the high middle ages and their integral contribution to society through storytelling and music as Troubadours. Each piece on the album is a story, a sonic narrative of moments, ideas and experiences. A lullaby, composed for his youngest sister, expressing wholehearted pride in seeing the young woman she had become in two years of absence while concurrently feeling profound sadness knowing many important moments of her life had been missed in the pursuit of his own.  Thunderous sounds of high speed trains reinvented by special technique on guitar combined with melody and lighting fast rhythms recall the endless hours traveling by train around Europe in the pursuit of more concerts, more unknown, more adventure.  Rasgueado techniques adapted from the mighty tradition of flamenco and percussive patterns on the body of the guitar in combination with a looper pedal recounts the heat, dry air and immersive culture traveling from concert to concert in southern Spain. 

Join us on October 10th for an exciting gypsy jazz concert featuring The New Hot Club of Zürich. Experience the vibrant sounds of French swing music from the 1930s and 1940s brought to life with enthusiasm by our talented ensemble: Dave Hasler on guitar, Markus Tinner on clarinet, Michel Münch on bass, and myself, Zarek Silberschmidt, on guitar.

The evening will conclude with an open jam session, inviting musicians and enthusiasts alike to share in the joy of live music. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the infectious rhythms and melodies of gypsy jazz. We look forward to seeing you there!

Jazzy James, New Orleans Jazz Quartet
Consisting of clarinet, guitar, double bass and trombone, the four-piece band takes you into the distinctive and cozy atmosphere of New Orleans jazz.

The name "Jazzy James" is not only a play on words, but also a homage to the roots of jazz. While Jesse James, the legendary figure of the Wild West, was known for his wildness and lawlessness, Jazzy James, in contrast, represents the harmony and creativity of jazz that touches the soul and enlightens the spirit. The 'Jam' in the band name also stands for spontaneous interaction and improvisation, which makes this music so unique.

So look forward to a musical adventure, because Kniri Knaus is not just a renowned trombonist on board. Many people also know him from the times of Pfuri, Gorps and Kniri, where he made music with waste and everyday objects. So it can happen that a garbage bag sets the rhythm or a solo can be heard on the garden hose.
